This pattern was most certainly born of necessity - the necessity for a quick warm up. I work in an old building and my office gets very chilly from early November until late May. As the sun sets and the afternoon cools, I pull these out of my desk drawer and slip them on. Warming my hands and covering that pulse point at my wrist are instant warmth and comfort. The pair is quick to knit, just a 2 or 3 hours and you are ready to wear them.
